Looks like you've got two threads going on this bike. You didn't mention miles and who you buying it from in the other thread. Now that this new info is known, you never give a dealership what they ask for even if you have confirmed the 'Nada' bluebook.....have you confirmed it?I just looked it up and this is what I see:

Now that your armed with this info, how much are you willing to pay? Go tell em and take control of this whole arrangement because you are the one with the power here.
they were asking $9000....he said he would take 8500......kelly blue book is 8000.......there have been 3 recalls, 2 minor thing, transmission (believe it was due to the nuetral switch thing)
my mechanic said the weak point on this bike is the rotar stator...the rotar bolts come off...he wants $650 to get it right..

f*** that noise. not for 8500! you can do a lot better for 8500... 2007+:

Not doing any research on price but appears high for a 06. But it's from a dealer, so probably the norm. And your mechanic is just in need of a car payment with the alternator rotor BS.
If it's charging, it's fine. And at that price they are asking, all should be right.
No, it's the last year of the 88ci. It does have the hydraulic cam tensioners though. Before ~Feb of '06 they came with 8 deg injectors which were problematic for some bikes so they switched to 25 deg. I have an '06 Low Rider built before Feb with the 8 deg injectors and have had no issues. Bought it used in '11 with 3800 miles for $9200. It's been a great bike and now have 22,000 miles on it.
thanks all...i sure like the looks of the 2006 dyna i was looking at...i am going to look at this 2007 dyna wide glide... they are asking $8900, but probably can get that lowered.....not as nice looking..but may be more less worried with issues....
I would not hesitate to buy an 06 but I would not pay near that asking price
I bought my 06 superglide new and traded it in 2014 with 85,000 miles
it had the best stock gear ratio
a few tack welds on the stator rotor and a 40$ baker inner primary bearing a couple gaskets and a full day in the shop and good to go
i want to use this thread,,,but cannot delete the others..my mistake, will not happen again...
i bought the 2007 dyna, its not as good shape as the 2006, but its okay....it has 14400 miles..and got it less than the 2006...
the 2007 rotar stator problem is solved on the 2007, has the welded design..
also, i should not have the ipb problem that is famous for the 20006, and i will not have to worry about replacing the transmission case if i had issues down the road...harley told me i would have to be pay the labor on that...expensive..
even though i do not like the looks that much, i can drive with a lot more confidence with the 2007, and bigger engine to boot
