My local coater tried some gloss black on my ceramic coated Samsons and it blistered within the first 100 miles. The pipes get hotter (around 700 degrees) than rocker boxes and any other powdered part around the engine. I ended up going with a satin black but it wasn't the look I wanted to I went with chrome. I've heard there is a gloss black high heat out there but haven't seen it yet.
My exhaust system is S&S headers which are Jet Hot satin black and Freedom mufflers which are ceramic satin black. the match is close however at the connection end of the mufflers there is some slight discoloration due to heat. The Jet Hot headers still look brand new and are easy to keep clean with regular washings. Nothing seems to stick. Shortly Im taking my mufflers apart and having the Jet Hot treated to match the header heat shields. The satin black is a good look and very easy to maintain.
