That shield is PERFECT. At least cosmetically. How's it for reducing the wind on your chest?
It works about as well as I'd expect a 14" shield to work...keeps some wind and bugs off my torso. (The used 18" shield I got works much better - obviously - but doesn't look anywhere near as good on the bike.)
I'd guess that the shorter the rider (I'm 6'3",) the more effective the 14" deflector would be.
Just picked this up Friday. Been following this thread for the past month waiting for the dealer to get one in. Has anyone installed the daymaker headlight, and if so how difficult is it? Been reading other threads where people have said you nees to cut and splice the wires to make it work. They always referenced the older RK(14s and 15s) so didn't know if it was the same for the 17s as well

Fitted one to my 17 RK & you do have to cut & splice the wires, they supply crimp connectors in with the headlight but I chose to solder the wires, once you've done this though you can still remove the headlight from the connector further back in the loom, just can't understand why they don't supply it with that connector. The SG & RG are different to the RK & you can buy an extension !!!
Just ordered the RK, it will take time until we recieve it here in Switzerland. I have 3 questions for you:
Sissy bar and pillow, short or standard ones? The short one seems more in the line of the Special. Thanks for the references.
Travel pack, any experience? Which model?
Luggage rack, the Stealth model seems fine, any comments?
Thanks for your support.

Some lights say you have to splice and I kept asking myself why? It's a high beam and a low beam, so I searched around. I came across Eagle Lights and looked into their stuff for my 2017 Road King Special. Well they are priced well and when I called them, the guy said nope, buy this adapter and you can run any light that uses the H4 plug (most LED's do).
When you unplug the stock headlamp, it will have 2 connectors. This adapter connects right up and hooks up to the H4 on the LED light and it works perfect.
Maybe some of these manufacturers just didn't want to take the time to make an adapter? I don't know, but you can run LED's without cutting into the harness. Glad I did some research. I hate cutting into the harness and can easily now run ANY aftermarket LED light that uses a H4 connector if I want. Hell you can buy this adapter and go buy a 7 inch light for a Jeep with a HALO or whatever and it will work. Lots of options out there for a LED light that will be twice as bright as stock. You DON'T have to spend hundreds of dollars for HD Daymaker or other brands. Lots out there for 100 or less. While the Eagle Lights webpage says this adapter is for 14-16 Road Kings, mine is a 17 and this adapter works on them as well. I sent them a email and suggested they update their webpage to reflect that it definitely works on 2017 Road King Specials (and probably regular RK's and SG's etc.)
I bought this light for mine, https://www.eaglelites.com/collectio...on-motorcycles. But call and make sure they send you the right adapter Part Number: 69200899 which is the one in the picture above. The adapter below in the picture with the light is not the right one for your 17 Road King. Or like I said, just buy the adapter and get your H4 LED from some other place if you want. I like the blacked out look of this one to match my bike and didn't care about a HALO. It is bright as hell and really lights up signs and the road. Stock wasn't bad, but this is way better.

Good info. It amazes me that the HD daymaker has to be spliced on the road kings !

I had the problem on mine, 14 but 17 are the same. I found the "wire" at Custom Dynamics because i could not cut the wires on my new ride....
The wires are plug and play, a lttle more expense but i'm happy with that solution.
I follow this thread for two things, i was next to buy one but i found my RK CVO before and one buddy have ordered one. Kings rules
For the headlight, i bought daymaker copy and it works well
