Adventures with the "Scorpios"
Today was a guys riding day as some of the women are away and Mrs. Scorpio had a baby shower for a friends daughter. We decided on a venture south from Sarnia down St. Clair Parkway on the St. Clair river and through Sombra Ontario to the USA. We started out in Sarnia with 3 riders and picked up 2 more at Sombra. Attached are the photos of our trip today. Hope you all enjoy!
Cheers!
Map of our route for the trip today.
The 3 of us ready for a day of riding just before leaving Sarnia. (Gilles, George and myself)
We picked up two more riders at Sombra Ontario. (Rob & Smitty)
Ferry terminal at Sombra Ontario. Here is where there is a car and truck ferry that runs across the St. Clair river between Sombra Ontario and Marine City Michigan. Cost for a motorcycle is $4.00 canadian.
Canadian Customs terminal at Sombra Ontario. You will need proper ID to cross into the USA. (Passport or Nexus Card)
On the ferry crossing the St. Clair river to the USA.
View from the ferry looking north up the St. Clair river. Where we live in this area they call it Bluewater Country. Beautiful beaches and crystal clear water.
Once in the USA after clearing customs we ride south along the river to Algonac Michigan. There another ferry is required to get to Harsens Island USA. Cost is $5.00 US total for the crossing there and back.
Another photo from the North Channel ferry to Harsens Island.
Restaurant on Harsens Island. We had lunch here. Burgers and beer. Great food and perfect place right on the north channel of the St. Clair river. Very popular place for boaters.
Another popular bar on the Island. This one is called the San Souci Bar. Located right on the middle channel of the St. Clair river which is actually the shipping channel for the Great Lakes freighters.
A Great Lakes freighter just happened to sail on by as we were having a beverage at the San Souci bar.
Inside the San Souci bar with the gang!
Heading back to Canada on the Marine City to Sombra ferry heading home after an awesome day of riding.
Back in Canada on Robs dock in Sombra. Was time for a cool down before heading north back to Sarnia. Another great day of riding with great friends!
Never going to talk RIP into riding. Can't even get her on a pedal bike.
Going to miss you guys in Playa. I finally locked in on accumulating enough deals on weeks. We leave early December and return next April.
You might as well swing on by on the bike...
Today was a short day trip with our friends Paul & Deb. We rode to St. Thomas Ontario to a place called the Salt Creek Market. Then to a restaurant in New Sarum, Ontario called the New Sarum Diner. Food was awesome, the beer was cold and the weather was beautiful. 30C today in that area of our province.
Another great riding day with great friends.
Next ride scheduled for tomorrow with our riding group.
More photos and adventures to follow!
Cheers, Terry

Tonight was our scheduled group ride. Initially we were scheduled to ride to Port Huron Michigan to a place called "The Angry Bull" only to find out that it has been closed permanently. Instead we decided on a route to Chatham, Ontario with the group.
Attached are some photos. It was great night for riding with our friends!
Cheers, Terry
We arrived in Chatham at the restaurant around 6:30 pm.
