Update: Boardtracker sent me a return label to send the shield back and purchased another one to compare. If there's nothing wrong with the windshield or hardware then there must be something wrong with my bike.
What could cause some people to have issues with the windshield fitment and others have no problems? A variance of gap 1" to millimeters between the headlamp and the bottom of the shield is pretty significant.
It looks great and appears to have hardware for both with or without aux lights. Call and make sure first though I see those spacers in there for w/o aux light mounting.
Pinching the ends in will make the front bulge closing the distance to the bucket.

Look from behind to see if the bracket is centered.
This x1000. I lowered the headlamp with that back bolt and now the windshield lines up perfectly and mounts easily. I bought this bike from the dealer with I think less than 2000 miles on it. Maybe the previous owner adjusted the positioning of the headlamp. This could be case solved with the windshield but maybe not with my bike. Need to figure out why the headlamp was adjusted that high. I'll have to mess with it in the dark tonight to see if I can get the headlamp adjusted right without it hitting the windshield.

Yeah I did. I adjusted the Headlamp using the directions from the owners manual and discovered that my headlamp was raised way too high. Not sure why it was raised that way but either way it's adjusted correctly now and the windshield has plenty of clearance and I can take it on and off with relative ease. Thanks for the help! Case closed on this.
