The brackets appear to be correct, I can tell by the spring clip in the picture. I have had both types of windshields, for with and without aux lights.
I went to a Harley Dealer today and he thinks I have the wrong bracket on the windshield. I'm not completely confident in the assessment though. He didn't have any other parts to compare too or anything.

Check out the thread: Problems Installing King-Size Detachable Windshield #57688-10 on 2016 FLSS
Same front end on FLSS as a LO
Which windshield are you using? I bought the HD King Size detachable for the fat boy lo and it fits perfect. Installing and uninstalling is a breeze.
I bought the same one new for my bike when I got it and it was anything but a breeze. The first few times I used that POS I had to tap it into place with a rubber mallet.
Only now is it getting to actually be what I would call "Quick -Detach". It stays on my bike year round so 3 years of stretching those little black bushings has finally made it instal/remove a little better..... don't get me wrong here, it's still a PITA to put on but at least it can be done by hand with no beating tools.
It's hard to tell from the photo but it looks like your missing the spacers on the bolts between the rubber mount & fork. Mine is a Nostalgic but here is a photo of the bolts.
Photo angle is diffferent but I have plenty of clearance. Although it is getting easier I have to loosen the bolts a bit at install/remove. Not really a big deal as I normally remove the mounting hardware completely when the shield is off anyway. Don't like the Frankenstein look.
My windshield did not come with those spacers either....
After the comments on this thread and reading the other thread. I can't really determine what's going on. Some claim they had no fitment issues and others have had similar issues as me. The guy in the thread linked returned his model that I have and tried another.
Even if I do live with the pinching and bend it to where it works better going on and off or use spacers, It doesn't help the issue of sitting on the headlight bucket and scratching it all up. Not sure how to raise it.
Frustrating...

I e-mailed Boardtracker which is where I bought it to see if I can send it back. I spent over $300 on this. It costs almost $400 from Harley directly. I can't keep scratching up my headlamp taking this thing on and off trying to fix it and figure out whats going on. I may already have to replace my headlamp bucket as I don't think I can buff the scrapes out of the clear coat. Even the with the cloth in between, when I pulled the cloth out yesterday the windshield then bottomed out on my headlamp and put a nice scratch into it.
