You know what they say, if it sounds too good to be true. But what can it hurt to make contact? Might be some PO'd ex wife with an ax to grind. Ya might get lucky, more ways than one.

Some East Indian tried the "I'm from microsoft and will help you with your computer which is corrupted" scam on me. I messed with his head a bit, then asked him if he was eating curry and touching his Johnson during his phone scams. End of call.
I was recently in the market for a used Polaris RZR, and came across many scams like that on craigslist. I've got friends all over the country, so I'd look in many different regions, in those cities that I have friends in. These machines naturally vary quite a bit in price, depending on the region.
But I found similar ads, in different regions. They'd use the same pictures and same descriptions. Always for ridiculously good deals... like $2000 for a machine that should be $8000. Almost never a phone number, but always an e-mail address. So curiosity got the best of me, and I e-mailed a couple of them from an e-mail address that I don't normally use. Almost always the same story; I'm in the service and just got be transferred to (insert random city name, in foreign country) and can't ship the machine to me, just need to empty my storage unit soon, etc, blah, blah. Send me a certified/cashiers check and it will be shipped to you. It was either something like this, or a slight variation of it. EVERY time. It's hard to imagine, but I guess there must be people out there that fall for these scams, because they're so common place. Bikes, ATVs, UTVs, cars, trucks, RVs, you name it. Really makes you hate these scammers, when you think someone, somewhere is getting screwed over, and it must happen more frequently than we hear about.
