Rode almost 200 miles today, I'd say that my sheepskin extends my comfortable in saddle time by at least an hour. Still going to get some seat work done over the winter.

Different butts seem to respond differently to different seats and covers. I tried a bead cover and it didn't do anything for me. I bought an Alaska Leather Sheepskin and LOVE it. I tend to move it from bike to bike. I agree with others here, having a good seat is darn important, I have had Terry from Terry's Custom Seats do two seats for me and have been very happy with them. The sheepskin still sits on top of the seat on long rides. 700 miles last weekend and could have gone much farther.

I would run Latex rather than sheepskin. Studies show that latex protects against various diseases and HIV better than sheepskin. Just Sayin'

I bought an Alaska Sheepskin (large, full coverage) for the non sweating feature in the summer. The one thing I found is that where it rode up on the back of the seat it pushed me forward about and inch and I didn't like that. Took a pair of scissors and easily fixed that problem. It did fix the "butt sweat" problem.

Didn't you trade in your Alaska sheepskin for a Mexican Chihuahua?

Right now you can get a great deal on "imperfect" sheepskins from New Zealand. They do have a red X painted on them. That's how they practice safe sex down there, they mark the sheep that kick!

I have a sheepskin set including backrest but I personally find the circulator pad works better for me, not as hot as the sheepskin...
Many riders use them and also beads.
As long as you feel better with it is what counts.
