Right now you can get a great deal on "imperfect" sheepskins from New Zealand. They do have a red X painted on them. That's how they practice safe sex down there, they mark the sheep that kick!
Lakerat - I was getting ready to order a sheepskin seat cover from Alaska Sheepskins, but then saw the custom covers by Black Sheep Trading. The custom covers look pretty good compared to a generic pad. How would you rate the customer service with Black Sheep Trading?
I use one on the Street Glide seat I have on my Ultra for long rides, sure makes a big difference in comfort. not much padding on the SG seat compared to the stock pillow top Ultra throne.
I love mine but the wife thinks it's ugly and won't ride with me if I have it on the bike.

I've seen some pretty looking sheep I would not mind taking for a ride tho.
Nothing like a well used sheepskin thrown over your saddle to make you look like a Dothraki screamer. Used to be popular in the old Mad Max "survival bike" days, also with long distance BM riders.
Sigh, for the joys of long distance touring where "road rash" translates into sweat induced fungal infections.
Yeah, as it's for comfort rather than looks, you'll get just as good an experience out of an old rug out of a yard sale and some tie downs. That's how it used to be done.

Indeed, back in the days when men were men and sheep were skeered. ..

No issues at all....I simply can't recall the delivery time and when it arrived, but it fit like a glove after following their detailed instructions. I carry a rain cover for the seat and backrest in the saddle bag for rain and washings.
Another shout out for Alaska Leather. I bought one for my Street Glide to go to Daytona last year and loved it so much it stayed on permanently.
I tried an Airhawk and felt that the sheepskin was far superior. Once or twice a year Id bring it in and hand wash it with dog shampoo, rinse the hell out of it, then shake it damp and air dry it. Fluff up with a wire dog brush and its as good as new.
