Default I'm sure it's been covered...but

New owner here. Playing with my VIN, various VIN checkers, web pages, and the owners manual. Here is what I have learned. I have a FXDBP. What is the "P"? The 4th and 5th letters are VA, which I understand to be custom factory or factory custom. What exactly does that mean? It's not one of the hard candy colors mentioned in the factory custom colors for 2014. Also, I have red wheels, which also aren't listed as a possible option. Letter 11 is a "C". That suppose to tell me where she was built, but didn't find a reference to C anywhere. I've read how screwy HD is with their VINs and mine appears to be no exception. So if your not to busy and can shed some light on any of it, I'd appreciate it. Thanks.

go here: http://shop.outpostalaska.com/OEMpartfinder.htm

when you pull down the various models, it will show you the models available for that year. in your case, the fxdbp is a street bob (hd-1)

You can try here also http://partsfinder.onlinemicrofiche....=30&c=0&d=2014 FXDBP DYNA 103 STREET BOB (FACTORY CUSTOM) (VAM) WHEEL - FRONT (CAST AND SLOTTED)

It looks like you have a 2014 FXDBP Dyna Street Bob (Factory Custom) 103" assembled in Kansas City, MO. It also has a 19" laced front wheel (RED) & a 17" laced rear wheel (RED)

That's what I was looking for. I guess the P basically translates from vin to model the fact it is factory custom? The wheels are correct. Is there a way to find out what all came from the factory custom, and what was added later? Basically a build sheet?

FXDBP is HD's way of introducing a "factory custom" bike to their HD-1 lineup. Your bike should have a Hard Candy Custom (HCC) paint option (red/green/gold flake), 103cu/in motor, and various standard/optional doo-dah's (e.g. wheels, seats, controls, etc.). Red wheels were probably coated/swapped by PO. VA in your VIN just means your Dyna is a FXDBP "model." For the 11th character, HD plant "C" is Kansas City, MO. Enjoy!

Not to bust you, but... Next time, when you post, please put a title that actually tells us what the post is about, instead of "click bait."

R,

My apologies. I usually do, however being general discussion I didn't feel it was that important. Damn man, the ****ing law is everywhere these days!

Red wheels were available from the factory when ordering through the HD-1 program.

Here's a pic of another one:
