I am in the same situation, and I DO NOT want to change the cables and wires. Does anyone know how tall of a pull-back riser can be used in place of the stock riser before changes have to be made to wires and cables?

Thanks

I had drags on my Sporty and love them.

Since you're asking, I'm going to assume you like the way they look about same...

....so the next thing is how they feel. Drag-bars are much more aggressive, real ones have very little pull-back, and don't go on a massive riser, so you're leaning forward a little for an aggressive stance. I like it, I'm used to it. If you kept your mid-controls, you'll be pretty comfy.

Once you start putting massive risers on it to make it more comfy you start losing the aggressive look, and the aggressive feel, so unless you're in love with the look, why not just go with the apes?

You will find short apes are very comfortable, I have used drags before and are literally a pain in the back.
There is a third option, I just put a set of 56473-98 bars on my bike, these are the extended reach bars they used on the Harley Sport models and they work perfect, they are a little taller than a drag bar 3.5" and are a little wider 28" and they pull back 6.25" and they do make them in black 56113-98 . I found this still retains an aggressive riding stance but are way more comfortable and the best part is all the stock cables fit.

this handle bar looks cool. How many inches? Does it require cable replacement from stock

How big are your apes,
and what cables did you have to get.
