Now you've gone and done it Glyder. I actually sort of agree with you on SOMETHING for once. Must the eclipse causing all this strange ****.

Regarding the bags, they are one touch open, like touring bags.

They really should have kept the sissy bar and included a luggage rack standard. People don't like paying more and getting less, and then having to pay extra for things that should have been included.

The frame is stiffer and the overall bike weighs a lot less than previous models. I like the ease of access to the Shock adjustment. Adjusting the shocks on my old bike sucks.

I didn't like the top heavy feel of Dynas which is why I always preferred Softails. So I am reserving judgment on that.

But you know, on paper the 2018 Heritage is in every way superior to my 95 Heritage, yet there is something about a carbureted Evo that resonates with me.

I am still interested in trying a new Heritage just to give it a fair chance.

The above is from the 2018 Heritage Classic webpage.
I like lots of black on certain motorcycles. That's why I bought a new 2017 Softail Slim. However, the Softail Heritage should have chrome...lots of it...not a lot of black.
Also, the new bags look kinda ugly.
Is a passenger backrest not a standard feature on the Classic anymore?
Well hell, there's another $500 bucks you have to spend!
MSRP: 2018 Classic $18,999
MSRP: 2018 Road King $18,999

I do like the "easy to adjust" preload rear shock. That's a huge step forward toward passenger and rider comfort.
The deluxe is the chromed out one now

What they're showing is leather or faux leather probably over a composite. If molded plastic to look like leather they did a fine job picture wise.

Not saying Im not going to go look and see it in person and maybe take a demo ride to see what the M8 is like in a softail and what the new suspensions like but Im pretty sure that its a no go for me from the pics. I have a 17 Limited, besides the 12 Heritage and 09 TriGlide ,so Im familiar with the M8. Just want to see how the M8 is in a lighter bike than the Limited. They sucked the Heritage right out of the Heritage.

I am not liking the new model either.

Just looking at the smaller things...they dropped the half-moon floorboards, no heel shifter, oil tank change, and the new bags look like a metric. I really do not like the black windshield.

I am glad I grabbed one in 2016...seems like a sweet spot for the Heritage now, at least for me.

I was considering trading mine in but not now. Our older ones just went up in value I think.
