"The Heritage Classic motorcycle used to be a homage to '50's style nostalgia. Take a look at the new one, and you'll see that it's anything but that."
The above is from the 2018 Heritage Classic webpage.
I like lots of black on certain motorcycles. That's why I bought a new 2017 Softail Slim. However, the Softail Heritage should have chrome...lots of it...not a lot of black.
Also, the new bags look kinda ugly.
Is a passenger backrest not a standard feature on the Classic anymore?
Well hell, there's another $500 bucks you have to spend!
MSRP: 2018 Classic $18,999
MSRP: 2018 Road King $18,999
I do like the "easy to adjust" preload rear shock. That's a huge step forward toward passenger and rider comfort.
I like the looks of some of the 18 Softails but I got to say the heritage is too drastic of a change. They should have dropped the classic off the name and called it the Heritage New Age or something
I don't know what to think, a little bit aghast!! Not sure I like the blacked out lower windshield, the loss of chrome, back rest gone, loss of the classic look, whitewalls and rim package has gone too. The Deluxe looks a bit like an older Heritage. I feel confused. I felt ready to trade but now I'm not sure.

This is exactly how I feel. I just can't believe what I'm seeing.
Sigh, maybe an extended warranty and hold onto my Fat Boy S. I will still go test ride tomorrow, my bike is getting serviced and they said they'd be ready for test rides in the afternoon.
