Default 2018 Heritage Classic--The Chrome Be Gone!

"The Heritage Classic motorcycle used to be a homage to '50's style nostalgia. Take a look at the new one, and you'll see that it's anything but that."

The above is from the 2018 Heritage Classic webpage.
I like lots of black on certain motorcycles. That's why I bought a new 2017 Softail Slim. However, the Softail Heritage should have chrome...lots of it...not a lot of black.
Also, the new bags look kinda ugly.
Is a passenger backrest not a standard feature on the Classic anymore?
Well hell, there's another $500 bucks you have to spend!
MSRP: 2018 Classic $18,999
MSRP: 2018 Road King $18,999

I do like the "easy to adjust" preload rear shock. That's a huge step forward toward passenger and rider comfort.

Not crazy about the chrome loss ...

Glad to see the studs gone from the seat and bags though ...
Although at first glance, I like the previous version better

I like the looks of some of the 18 Softails but I got to say the heritage is too drastic of a change. They should have dropped the classic off the name and called it the Heritage New Age or something

I don't know what to think, a little bit aghast!! Not sure I like the blacked out lower windshield, the loss of chrome, back rest gone, loss of the classic look, whitewalls and rim package has gone too. The Deluxe looks a bit like an older Heritage. I feel confused. I felt ready to trade but now I'm not sure.

I'm definitely keeping my Fatboy S now.

The iconic horse shoe oil tank is history too. Replaced with a faux cover.

This is exactly how I feel. I just can't believe what I'm seeing.

Sigh, maybe an extended warranty and hold onto my Fat Boy S. I will still go test ride tomorrow, my bike is getting serviced and they said they'd be ready for test rides in the afternoon.

I was never a fan of the studs and tassels, but the new Heritage is fugly. I do love most of the changes on the softails.
