OK so I'm kind of stumped on how say 10 " mini apes would work with the stock riser that I'm pretty sure I need to keep if I want a speedometer.
what's everyone doing for bars and how?
Yeah I figured as much. My initial search came up empty. Not sure why but I've since found old threads but a lot of the pics are gone.
I'm leaning towards a 1" riser with the 14" burly narrow glides.
The hardest thing I've had to find for my 883c is the indicator light setup. There's tons of aftermarket gauge mounts, but they all only seem to accommodate the other lights. The Roland sands gauge mount is nice, but you're up around $300 for the mount and lights. There's always the low mounts, that goto the fork or the dk setup that goes to the tank, if that's your thing
Well I've got my parts list and I've got a set of really nice hard bags with quick release and a really nice angled set of leather throw overs to sell. Maybe I'll see if I can do some horse trading in the classifieds before I list them elsewhere.

I purchased all new LED bulbs, and the parts from an 07 and newer style to use a traditional OEM setup on my 06 custom. I did the dual gauge setup, but a single would be no different. I purchased my parts from Ronnie's online, and bulbtown.com for the LEDs.
The following list should be all one needs to convert a custom to a single gauge setup.
55847-05A (gauge bracket)
67121-95 A (front cushion) I found the "custom" on my 06 was not correct.
67104-95 (rear cushion)
67320-95 (back cover)
2361 (cover screws) 2ea.
68513-07A (indicator bezel pack)
2325 (indicator cluster screws) 2ea.
56117-82A (riser)
56116-82A (riser)
3210A (handlebar clamp bolts) 4ea.
3605 (riser bolts) 2ea.

I'm modding my speedo housing/bracket to accommodate the stock indicator lights. Can't seem to find one in our catalogs with 5 little holes. Only 3 and 4 unless you buy the speedo and all. I'm using the stock one inside a chrome housing that attaches to my riser bolts. So instead of holes for idividual lights, it will be 1 long hole for the stock indicator housing to fit into flush.
I've got a used chrome riser cover that says Harley Davidson on the top I want to use instead of a 1200L riser with the built in speedo/ indicator lignts. 1 1/2" riser. 14" Burly narrow glide bar.
If I understand you correctly you want to use the "custom" indicator light bezel? You also are trying to use the "custom" speedo mount? Neither of those two parts are compatible with any of the current moco parts available. You must switch out to the parts I listed, or go completely aftermarket.
I was going aftermarket but leaning towards the 1200L set up now. Just don't like the Speedo location. Saw a post way back where someone cut it off and modded it to fit above the tank. But I'm also contemplating raising the tank a little. Saw that here too and liked the look. Opened up the top of the motor some.
