I have a 2014 Ultra Limited and am considering changing out my air intake to a V&H vo2 naked. I happen to like the look of the stock air cleaner cover and would like to keep it. Is anyone running this system and how was the install?
I already have an FP3 on the bike and plan on upgrading the exhaust as soon as the snow flies here in Nebraska.
Just installed this on my 2014 Triglide. Hose routing not shown very good in the instructions. Easy to figure out. Bolts holding everything to the intake are a little tight going thru all the pieces, thought about drilling them out a little bit but made it work as they came. Really opened it up. Cheapest place i found to buy the kit was Fuel Moto. Delivery price was less than $179.99, price everyone else is asking before delivery charges.
i am glad i went with this setup, i like the stock cover too. I did take the rubber gasket off the outside rim of the cover. Nothing to hold it in place now. It really opened it up. When i get on it, really changed the sound of the air being drawn in.
Put that on my 14 SG about a year and a half ago for the same reason, liked the "Ham Can" look, didn't want my leg up against it. took me about 30 minutes to install, then flash with my FP3. I have SE Street Cannons. Feel more torque. No issues, just did a 3500 mile trip, averaged 42 MPG.
I really appreciate the offer but you're just a couple of days too late as I ordered one Monday morning. How did you like it? Why did you take it off? Thanks anyhow.
I've had the V&H vo2 naked installed for over a year now. With the FP3 & slip ons, bike feels & sounds great. The install was straight forward. If you get stuck, there are several youtube videos you can check out.
I am running the exact setup you mentioned and love it. I too like being able to keep my stock air cleaner and second the install was really easy. I am by no means a mechanic and installed this in about 30-45 minutes.
Another thing I liked about the VO 2 is that unlike the HD and many others you dont have to remove the throttle body bracket, which is a real pain in the ***.
Cant go wrong with it
