I removed my Axtell system. Pushed my oil pressure up to 60psi even when fully warmed up. I got the readings from DD gauges.

With the Baisley spring I'm running at 43-45psi.

I think I have made up my mind, the oil pressures were fine before the Axtell, so probably going to remove it rather than spending another $400 for a different cooler since I already have one. Just wish I would have known about these issues before I let them talk me into the Axtell. As the old saying goes DON'T FIX IT IF IT AINT BROKE!!!

You can remove it without pulling the CAM plate. You should consider the Baisley spring.

Default 2015 117”

I’m almost done building a 2015 RG with a 117” Drago motor. I did install the Axtell bypass and the Zippers dual piston tensioners. I also installed the Rockout rocker shaft shims. After installing the same on my ‘09 with a Drago 117” I experienced about the quietest TwinCam I have seen, especially with aftermarket cams. I’m looking for the same with the new build. I am still running the stock Harley oil cooler so I hope that doesn’t cause a problem. I don’t understand why the stock oil cooler would be problematic and others would not as they all have the same basic construction and it is basically a straight through device. I guess we will see!

You can get the spring and piston out without pulling the cam plate?

Yes you can. That part of the CAM plate is elevated out. Just be careful when punching out the pin. As you can see I used tin foil just in case.

Thanks for the info!!!
My oil psi is running about 10-12 psi higher then normal. Tried the sending and that didn’t fix it. Everything I’ve been reading is the pressure relief is stuck. I didn’t want to get into pulling the cam plate. This is awesome news.

Thanks again

Not sure either, but thats what they said when we talked to them. I know some coolers use thermostats and some don't.

I'll give them a call tomorrow to see what the problem could be. Thermostats in oil coolers just redirect the oil, don't really see that being the problem. If it is I'll just replace the harley adapter with one from Jagg. Probably should have done that anyway, the Jagg puts the oil lines under the oil filter, looks better.

I would be interested in what they tell you, if you don't mind.
