Default Low Rider S - Luggage and Pipes

I bought a new Low Rider S Saturday ( I'm in Chicago so they are going to deliver it tomorrow ). I read all 250 pages of the Low Rider S thread - so many awesome bikes and great ideas !

I think I figured out what I am going to do for luggage - I didn't want to move the turn signals or license plate so I think I'm going to go with the following:

52726-09 Passenger Sissy Bar Upright $ 59.95
51782-07 Passenger Backrest Pad $ 79.95
52796-09 Rigid Solo Rack $ 159.95
52689-09 Passenger Pillion $ 219.95

I'll either pick up Harley's premium touring luggage or use my existing T Bags.

Am I correct in assuming I have to replace the stock seat in order for this to work ? I think I will go with this if that's the case:

52000266 Brawler Solo Seat $ 349.95

This is the first time I have ever taken a bike home bone stock ( this is my 4th Harley ). I'm going to wait until break in to change the pipes - here is what I am leaning towards:

1800-2117 V&H Big Shots Staggered Black $ 714.99
300-0202 Rinehart Exhaust Dyna 2 into 2 $ 799.95

I know the 2 into 1 yields better performance but I really prefer the looks of the 2 into 2 better ( I am more into changing the sound than increases in TQ and HP - for now anyway )

What do you guys think between the Vance and Hines & Rineharts - any pros / cons ?

Glad I found this great forum - thanks for any input / advice !

Look forward to hanging out with you guys...

Nick

I think I saw yesterday that the Brawler will not work with a pillion.

Do you guys think the Sundowner would work ?

How hard is it to swap seats ?

Thanks,

Nick

I have the HD removable sissy bar with the HD Removable mount kit. Still using my stock seat with no issues. I use a saddleman BR3400 that slides over the sissy bar and then I strap it down. can easily pack a week worth of stuff in that. I place it on the rear seat and use it as a back rest.

Seat swap is simple but again I don't think it is needed.

Attached Pic for my 100 mile weekend ride. The face is "MY *** hurts and it is hot face" LOL

And time. I went with the quick release since i don't always want the sissy bar on. Wife will not ride so it is really there to strap stuff to lol. I didn't get a pad for it also but will say I think the bag would fit a little better with one I am just to cheap.

Not what you want to hear, but on the exhaust I'm going to strongly advise a D&D Fat Cat. It's very close in cost to what you're looking at and will sound as good or better. In addition, you will gain performance. On your ride, that pipe really looks sweet (in black for your LRS)

I promise you, once installed on your ride, you'll love the looks, have something different from everyone else, gain performance, AND you won't regret it.

Seats are easy to change. Takes about a minute or two. I have the stock street Bob seat on my lrs. Perfect for long rides. As far as exhaust, I'm not a fan of Vance and Hines or rineharts, I used to love the 2-2 exhaust as well, but my d&d fatcat looks downright sexy, gave me a nice bump in performance, and sounds ****ing awesome. I can't post pics, so pm me your email if you want to see it. With a 110, the fat cat is the best possible choice for you. If you want a great sound, nothing beats the fat cat, AND you get performance and looks with it. Trust me, check out the fat cat. I'll never run another exhaust ever.

I I never really liked the 2-1 looks, but the fat cat definitely grew on me. I love the look of the larger muffler. You'll love it, nothing sounds better than a fatcat. And if you look at dyno charts of compatible bikes you'll see the ones with the fat cat are significantly higher. Better to buy a good exhaust once than one you end up having to upgrade.
Oh and the fat cat has 12 mm and 18mm o2 sensor bungs so if you ever want to do an autotune kit, you're already set up for it instead of drilling and welding new bungs in.

Nick2689, thanks for posting those pics. The black fat cat looks awesome on the LRS.

On my Bob, I went chrome because mine is a little different color scheme. I really love this pipe. Every Cape Coral and Ft. Myers bike night, I always get people that come up and compliment or ask about my pipes.

Chrome on the bob...

Bike just got delivered ( too bad it's 27 degrees )

Stupid question # 1, do you guys just leave the rain sock on when you wash it, or should I do something else ?

Looking at the stock seat, I do not think the pillion will work.

I'll take all suggestions for pipes, since I have some time to decide.

That Fat Cat does look pretty awesome ( love the sissy bar too ! )

Thanks,

Nick
