Agreed. I'm not sure you can call it a fad after 15 years. And it's mostly people over 40 years old calling it a fad. Either way, I like both blacked out and chromed out, but I'm in love with my choice of blacked out
Hell im 55 lol I love the blacked out look, always have and never really been a chrome fan
Got my new 2018 Street Glide Special in Vivid Black Friday and I love it!!! First blacked out bike I've ever had & I'm wondering how I'm going to clean it..... Lol
If you haven't figured it out I love the blacked out look.
I am glad I have not been able to find that bike in one of my local dealers. If I had, my financial situation would be a lot worse. I think that color is one of the best HD put on a bike. Nice ride my friend.
It would have saved me a lot of work and $ if they had offered that in 2014
Yeah but what fun would that be? Lol. I absolutely love the blacked out bikes and I love chrome ones too but that's the beauty of owning a bike, is making it "yours". Personally I wouldn't want to buy a bike already "done" weather that's blacked out or chromed out. I like getting in there wrenching a little, learning a little bit about my bike and giving me something to do during the off season. Yeah it takes a little more time and maybe a little more money but I can say "I did this". I guess to me it's kinda like tattoos, I see some really awesome tattoos but there not the kind I would have but I can appreciate good work when I see it, then there's times I wish I had more money, lol. "To each his own" as they say. But like I said I love these new blacked out bikes!
Fftoddster your bike looks awesome!!! Is that a factory front wheel or something different? I like it.
I'm already tired of the look ............... Went to Valley HD in Wheeling while traveling through Friday. Nice dealer but not much bling on the bikes. This trend ain't gonna last IMO.

guys have been blacking out their bikes since at least 2000, that I can remember. I'd say it not really even a trend anymore. i don't see it going aways anytime soon either, not with the OEM finally selling them that way.
