For 2018 Harley has taken the Touring Specials to the dark side,
by blacking out many of the parts on the Special models. How do
you like the Specials for 2018? Good, Bad, or I don't care.
I know the blacked out look is in now for bikes and cars but I don't care for it. My kids tell me I'm living in the past because of my music. Listening to people here, I live in the past because I like my Live to Ride collection that I've had on every Harley including my current 13 EG. I guess I'm living in the past also because I prefer the chrome to the blacked out bikes.
When people first started blacking out their bikes I found them interesting and liked some of the ones that were done well. Since it's caught on so much they are nothing special anymore.
My opinion of the factory bikes is that the MoCo is coming late to a fad that will probably play out before too long.
If HD wants their sales to improve they need to be innovators and leaders, mot Johnny come latelys.
I love my 2018 Road King Special. It definitely stands out. When I took it to the store yesterday as I walked up to it in the parking lot from a distance it looked sick. Looked evil sitting there. Like something the 4 horsemen would ride. It definitely stood out in the parking lot all blacked out. Especially in Vivid black. It looks super sinister. Very dark. I wouldn't want the bike any other way!!! Fits my personality and taste perfectly.
I guess I'm the odd man out, I prefer the blacked out look---although chrome is nice, I just don't like the look any more. A little accent chrome is just perfect.
