600 miles on my 2016 48 this weekend. Is the sundowner solo seat a good option for this bike. The stock seat literally left blisters on my ***.... 43mpg and a peanut tank.. so thank goodness i had to stop for gas every hour
The Sundowner and Mustang Wide Vintage are both popular. An alternative is an inflatable cushion, which can add extra support and comfort. We have a UK brand on our SuperLow, but H-D has one and there is a popular US brand (whose name I don't recall at present).
I've got a couple of seats, one being the Sundowner. I have to say that it's the most comfortable by a long shot. I'm not real fond of the rear of it looking like a balloon.
I used to own a 09 1200 Custom equipped with a HD Sundowner seat.
It wasnt a very attractive seat but I didnt really care because I could ride ALL DAY LONG on a standard suspension that everybody constantly complains so much about.
Then I bought my 72
It came with an aftermarket HD springer solo seat.
I didnt expect much from it but was shocked to discover that it was every bit as comfy as that touring Sundowner seat.
Once again, I found myself riding all day long on an often cussed stock suspension.
I eventually replaced it, but not because of ride quality.

I'm sure many of the other manufacturer's springer solo seats ride just as well.
Purists will bust your ***** for mixing a springer seat with shocks... I DIDN"T CARE!
