I have an '05 RKClassic and am finally looking to replace my stock seat. I'm interested in a Sundowner possibly a solo seat since I usually ride solo. But I like the look of a 2up seat. I've been told I can add a Mustang passenger seat since I don't care for the Sundowner wide passenger seat and the Mustang passenger seat is more narrower. Any suggestions or comments? Oh and how's the ride? Thanks!
I put the Sundowner on at the dealer before I picked up the bike new in April. Have about 5000 miles on it now. Just for fun I put the stock seat back on and went for a 100 mile ride. It was like sitting on a board and my a$$ was sore. I don't think I will be running the stock seat again. Mine is a 2 up seat, can't speak for the solo.
I didn't like it, because it pushes me to close to the tank. I'm 6'3" so I got the corbin hollywood solo love it, but can't stay on more than 2hrs. So if I'm doing so distance I put on the tall boy, if I'm staying local I use the hollywood solo. I sold my sundowner on Ebay last week it was new. So check out Ebay first.
I was on a 3200 mile ride back in May and I had ridden from VA down through TN, across AL, MS, and half way across Arkansas my *** gave out, I called Oklahoma City HD and bought a Sundowner over the phone and they held it for me till the next day and then shipped my stock seat home for me. Anyway continued up into Kansas, and back through Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, West VA. and back home to VA.
The stock seat is still in the box they shipped it to me in and I can't see putting it back on. The Sundowner saved my *** and made my trip a lot more enjoyable!!!!!!!!!
We just took our first ride (only about 150 miles) on our new Sundowner "two up" seat today and we love it. Especially the "little lady"!! Was a good investment for me .. gotta keep her happy!!
I recently changed the stock seat on my '05 Road King Classic for the Sundowner and am VERY PLEASED with the improvement in comfort. I can't comment on any other aftermarket seat, but for the money you can't beat the Sundowner!
Never left the shop without having the Sundowner put on the King. That was my wifes only requirement when I traded for the King. This is my second Sundowne.
I put a Sundowner on my Street Glide and love it. The only problem I have is that its hard to get in and out of the saddlebags and it seems to rub. Does anyone else have this problem?
