I tryed to do a search but got no results. Sorry if this has been asked before. But I see a lot of used solo sundowner seats on ebay, really cheap. So, I was wondering if these seats are not very comfortable, and thats why there are so many on ebay? How is the mustang solo compared comfort wise? I want to get a comfortable solo seat, without spending the huge money a corbin can cost. I know you get what you pay for, just don't want to waste money either. Thanks for any input!
About this time last year I bought a stock seat on e-bay that came off ofastandard Road King. I really only wanted the solo driver seat but paid for it and got the passenger pillion as well.
There were a lot of these seats for sale at the time and I got a pretty good deal. At the end of my first 50 mile ride I was ready to throw it away! -Finally figured out why there were so many for sale.[:@]
My wife bought me a Mustang solo for Christmas from M & M Cycles ($225) and it is truly a comfortable seat. I was prepared to buy a HD Sundowner solo (Around $300) until I read the fine print in the accessory catalog and noted that you also need to purchase a $59 kit for the seat. I posted this in another thread ("My HD brand loyalty just hit a wall") and expressed my disappointment in HD for making, and selling a seat that is exclusively manufactured for my RK Classic butwon't fit properly unless I also buy a kit to make it work. HD really p*ssed in my corn flakes that day!
Long story - short...I also have a Sundowner Touring Seat that I like a lot. When my bike doesn't have the Mustang solo on it, I'll have the Sundowner touring on it and it is a long mileage seat. I can't speak about the Sundowner Solo cause I didn't buy it.
Here is the seat I have and just love it for comfort, quality and looks. I know quite a few from the forums have this seat also and are quite happy with it.
I havehad my eye on that seat and this one http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...398&rd=1,1
I really don't want the flames, but rather plain or with something tribal, I'll have to take a closer look at the C&C to see if they offer a different design. Thanks for the comments, they are helping
I was wondering the same thing. My stock seat sucks, I was lookin at the Mustang solo with the removeable backrest and the add on pass pillon for when the wife goes with. I dont ride with the windshield much and the backrest would help with the windblast at highway speeds.
C&C offers several designs, I went with the black stitch on the flames and it looks good. I also went with the leather option instead of naugahide. A1 quality in my opinion. I use my stock seat reworked by badx [Allen@ Mean City Cycles] for 2 up riding and it rocks also. No need for expensive touring seat.
Wow, I just e-mailed C&C through ebay, and I already got a reply! So far I think I know that this company is the kind of company I would like to do business with! I'll keep ya posted on my progress.

Great. I bought one on ebay, not too long ago, to install at the start of the riding season (Michigan). Like you I was looking for a cheap solo alternative. Oh well, I'll give it a try and sell it if I have to. I only paid $65 for the drivers seat.
04 Harley: That looks exactly like the Mustang seat my wife bought for me...and its very comfortable too.
MountainKowboy: The seat on your bike is the same one I bought through e-bay and its going in the trash! I don't have any experience with C & C but give a high score to the Mustang.
