no modifications of any sort needed with the daymakers, headlight or driving lights.

I went with a United Pacific 31400 LED reflector headlamp. It looks more like a conventional headlamp,it doesn't protrude past the retaining ring,so no need for a frenched trim ring and it fit the factory mounting bucket without modification. Headlight Revolution has a very comprehensive review of this style lamp and the UP31400 got decent marks. This lamp is also sold by Maxxima and Grote to name a few. All identical.I bought it from Octane Lighting,$149 shipped. I haven't been able to ride since the install as the weather here hasn't been cooperative.I'm assuming it will be way better than the halogen it replaced.

Wondering if anyone is concerned with the wattage of these lamps. I see them available in 45, 50, 60, and 75 watts. I assume the higher the number, the brighter the lamp, BUT a hotter lamp too!???? Is this an issue?
thanks!

This is the one I used on my Road King.https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01EI...uLL&ref=plSrch

.
That's absolutely right and I didn't want to hack my bucket but I screwed up and failed to order the adaptor ring. I was pressed for time. Fortunately, my street glide is a high mile, low priced POS! If it were any newer or nicer I might have waited. I should have been more clear about cutting being necessary as opposed to an option.

is that what they cost new? damn. i got my headlight and spots for around $300 right here in the classifieds. some may still say i overpaid but there are some things i'm willing to buy knockoffs and some things i won't. i'll grab some chip brushes from harbor freight when i am doing some fiberglass work but i won't rely on their jack and stands to support my f150 when i am laying under it

for me the price used was worth every penny in the long run.

i just watched this video, and i think it may be the one you were talking about.

i must admit i was highly skeptical when i first saw it - an led light in a reflector housing? after watching the video i am impressed by the guys who designed that. it's not the best cutoff line but for what it is it is pretty damn good. i don't think it can hang with an led is a quality projector housing but it is certainly better than it's halogen counterpart.

led lights do not get anywhere near as hot as halogens do. when i bought a set for my jeep the salesman tried to sell me an add-on kit that heated the glass in the housing. they said since the light doesn't really heat up ice forms over the glass in winter driving. the jeep is a trail toy, and if it's snowing i'm not driving it...
