I am new to all this. So any and all help is appreciated. Me and my husband got this bike as a daily rider. We have had it for a few months now. We are in Florida so no hills for it to climb.lol when we got it we bearly got it home to find out the clutch needed to be rebuilt. Which has been done. It was a great bike til about 2weeks ago. We went out for a ride and it was riding very ruff. Then died... we got it to start and get the mile back to the house. We now can't get it to start without full throttle. It won't idle and stay running it backfires and had twice flames come out of the S&S G carb.
Here is a list of things we have so far done to the bike.
Clutch rebuilt ($400) at a shop.
I have done myself or with my husband the following
1. New plugs n cables
2. Replaced the coil
3. Cleaned the carb and rebuilt it
4. Drained gas and put new gas in it
5. Oil change

We are clueless what it could be.
Could be the fuel tap, may have collected rust/gunk from the older tank.
This is a common problem with older bikes, especially if previously stored without gas.
Check the asshat’s profile and look at his threads. He/she/whatever it is copies other people’s posts from other forums and posts them here, as Cygnus pointed out.
The OP is a troll. He posts or copies posts from other websites. He starts these threads and never comes back into them. He gets reported a ton but apparently the site staff thinks he is not a troll.
Guess I haven't been here long enough to have seen these before.
Maybe when I have 20K+ posts I might have seen it all by then.
He posts a new one every day it seems. This makes it 2 for today. Its kind of embarrassing because honest people reply trying to help this person out when in reality, its all just BS.

Doesn't worry me, I'm not embarrassed. At the very least someone else may read the thread who is experiencing similar problems on their bike and get something out of it.
