Because my rider has two metal plates I her neck I focus a lot on her comfort and to reduce/almost eliminate the buffeting that she was experiencing I installed a 16 Freedom Shield. The downside for me is that I now look thru the top 2 of the shield. The optical clarity of the shield is great but mist/fog/rain means that I have to strain to look over the top.
Anyone else riding while looking thru the shield? I know Rain-X will damage a shield but is there something that will bead up and run off the water?

Any wax will cause the water to bead up and run off.
I'm definitely going to invest in some of that ^ I have a slim s and the windshield that Harley had for it is tall. Wife rides it that way and could have had it cut down for free but chose not to... I even have to look through it, but I wouldn't change it, it works great and looks awesome... If it gets wet we just look around the side till we can clean it. I use the Harley Davidson waterless detailer to clean it and that works pretty good to make the rain bead up.
If i set up tall on the seat i can look over my shield but if in normal riding position i'm well under the top edge. I like being able to ride at interstate speeds with my visor up and having it in case the rain starts to fall. I need to get some of that RainX plastic still.
I hadn't heard about Rain-X for Plastics. I'll give it a try. We're running from Tampa to Atlanta on Thur, hopefully no rain but I'll be prepared just in case.
Someone mentioned in the reviews that the rainx for plastic is not very effective unless applied correctly. Apply and rub in with a microfiber cloth until it starts to have a haze and then let it dry. Polish with a clean microfiber cloth.
