I have 05 softail deluxe,I have a problem when i shift into second gear and all gears after that.The shifter will not spring back to the center postion.It has to be done manual. I called the dealer and they said, this is called a sticky shaft shifter. What are they talking about.

There is a thread on here about that. Had the same problem myself. Had to take the toe and heel shifters off, clean and lube the shaft and reassemble. Also, check the points on the shifter rod. Mine was ok, just cleaned it and lubed. After that shifting was fine again.
