They know about it. The stator was BOLTED to the compensator and the bolts loosen and destroy the windings. The newer ones are welded, NEVER allow them to try to use the bolted ones, IMHO.
Also, and you are not gonna like hearing this, you should have the primary drive sprocket removed and the main shaft bearing checked. It has a plastic bearing carrier and it can fail and cause the mainshaft to wobble and the seal will leak tranny fluid. Everything they do to repair the stator problem will be redone to get to the bad bearing, if it goes, or is in the process. While the sprocket is off, installing a 30 tooth sprocket is as easy as ordering one, the perceived power increase is worth the cost of the sprocket, for sure.
OC Harley tells me it's going to cost $2100. Moco CS says its not a known issue and they will not do anything about it. I don't know what to do. I need help.
Thanks to this forum , when I was looking at getting my 06 Dyna I read loads of posts regarding the inner primary bearing and stator so when I bought mine I got the inner primary done under warranty and got them to put a later stator in at the same time.
Hopefully thats it all done now to ride

Yep, getting new stuff. New stator, clutch pack, primary chain, ipb and sprocket. That's just off the top of my head. Bike should be done on sat. After I get it back I'll look into my options.

Better tell them if your trans and inner primary case do not have alignment dowels you want the cases replaced. HD Milwaukee customer service knows all about this. They replaced my cases n/c.

I had the cases changed out a couple of years ago when the ipb took a dump. I wonder if I'm the only guy that's getting stuck with paying for parts because of this stator disintegrating in my primary and taking everything else in the with it?
