Default CVO Transmission Opnion

I did the 3 hole oil change on my 21 CVO street glide and put 28 oz and never seem to get anything on the dipstick! Added a little more to 30 oz as by buddy has a CVO and states it takes about 30oz, Was wondering what most or running at. The dipstick I find very hard to read with the little triangles and didn't want to have any errors.

Thanks in advance! Hope to ride the Gauntlet in 2 weeks!

they can be hard to read...what I do is after screwing the dipstick in by hand only until it just makes contact, I stop and remove it but while extracting it I immediately pull it out horizontally and lay it on a piece of paper towel and fold the piece over the dipstick..then unfold and the oil mark on the towel will align with the dipstick reading..anything between the top bottom and top A & F is safe operating range...shoot for the middle because when you screw the dipstick in fully it will then be near the Full mark... here's wishing you safe and fun travels on your road trip, awesome bike!

I do a quart in the trans and a quart in the primary. Never had an issue. I don't think it needs to be that precise, and the pessimist part of my brain thinks these manufacturers overcomplicate things on purpose to get people to just bring it to the dealer for service.

With the engine.... I drain it hot, pour in what the manual says the capacity is and don't think about it again until I check the oil every couple hundred miles.

The service manual for my 21 and 22 year models calls for 28 ounces.

I follow the manufacturers recommendations and it has been spot on where it should be on the dip stick.

I am also using the Figurati dip.sticks which are much easier to see over the HD metal stem dip.stocks.

I run Redline and the pepto bismo color helps also!!!

Use a measuring cup to be precise and it becomes easy.
