Hi.
On my last ride I notice the voltage gauge fluctuates between 14 and 14.3. When i got home I tested the voltage with a digital volt meter and it was stable at 14. I suspect the gauge may be failing. Has anyone experienced this issue and/or does anyone have any ideas.
I have Dakota digital gauges on my 16 cvo street glide and the voltage gauge reads 13.8. It worried me so a few years ago I had the charging system tested and it passed all the test my independent did. Last year it would drop to 13.5 on really hot days, I took a volt meter and it read 14 at the battery and the gauge on the bike read 13.8. I’m not going to worry about it until it throws a code or the gauge reads less than 13.
On my old 2016 CVO Limited, my voltage gauge did the same thing while touring up in Montana. Stopped at the dealer in Bozeman and they checked it out. Updated the system software and sent me on my way. Had no more issues or fluctuations again. Bike was sold last year.

This is not an issue, I would ride on. Check your battery condition and cable connections just to be safe, never a bad idea to check them annually.
