Default voltage gauge

Hey guys,

Looking for some advice, the fairing mounted gauge on my 2011 street glide looks like its pegged at 15-16 v.....I used a digital multimeter on the pig tail from my battery tender and it was showing 12 v before start up and 14.2 v after start up.

Could this be a bad voltage gauge or bad voltage regulator?

I'm thinking its the gauge.

Any input is appreciated.

Dan

There was a thread on this forum recently that described how to calibrate the voltmeter.

Most likely it's just a faulty gauge.
Mines been doing that since I got my SG in 2011.
I did the same as you and check everything with a volt meter.
Took it to the Harley shop to have it double check.
Tech at the shop said that the gauges are pretty cheap and not to worry about it.
I've never gave it a second thought after that.
