I am not a mechanic, cleaning up my 03 FatBoy I noticed "black sout" on the engine front side...Is this normal? Is it oil? Is it something I should be concerned about? The rest of the fins look clean to me, just on both sides of engine front. Do you want another picture from a different angle to better depict it?
Thank you CoolBreeze3646, Good information. I will call and go by local indy tomorrow as I am not a wrencher per say. I assume okay to ride short distances but just being sure to check oil level constantly. I had my 3 hole change last fall and oil level looked great after last ride, very clear as well so that is good.
