PV4+dyno vs Thundermax vs canned tune
I hope I am not opening a pandora's box
what would you choose if budget wasn't a concern / you've got a stage2 FLHXST, you do 80% long range touring (that doesn't mean not dynamic touring, so say 30% of it you ride like you stole it), 20% dynamic city riding...and you want flexibility (not to have to come back to the dealer to recalibrate it all each time you change something in your bike).PV4+dyno tune (but first you'd ride with autotune, dyno later as you do not have a dyno nearby and you need to go on a long trip), or go straight to Thundermax or stay with your canned tune (pre-loaded tuner map from the dealer - Don Performance).
Which option would you choose, what would yield best results? Assume you do not know much about it all and all you know is from Chat GPT
and when you watch all these youtube things about it, you just get more confused.?
I'd use a TTS. Tmax is Alpha-N system which imho just to "old school" using tp over rpm instead of a map sensor like PV or TTSwhere your fueling and spark request is based on load. I'm assuming you have RDRS? If so TTS is the only one that can tune the tq control. most important is
finding a good dyno guy. A good tune will cover everywhere you ride, no need for different maps. Change something major like exhaust or cam it will
need to be retuned. Having a map sensor a PV or TTS will adjust for elevation. When you first turn your bike on it measures elevation.
