Default PC5 w/Auto Tune vs Pro Dyno Tune?

I am at a bit of a crossroads here. I have done several searches and read mixed results for both ways, but looking for user opinions. I am about to swap out cams and will have my bike "done" so far as engine mods go for a long while (yea right, i know)

I allready have a PC5 running a canned map (05 FLTRI retrofit). My original plan was to get the bike done, then head to a dyno tuner and have a custom map made. After reading a bunch on the autotune module, i am wondering if it would be a better path for me. My pipes have bungs allready so adding the o2 sensors will be a snap.

I guess what i am really looking for is what realistic differences would i see in the auto tune vs a pro done dyno tune? if the spread in performance is negligible i am leaning towards the auto tune if for no other reason than future mods not requiring a trip back to the dyno.

Has anyone done dyno results with a custom mapped PC vs auto tune?

Thanks for the info guys.

I ran a DTT auto-tune system in my bike for almost a year, and then I switched it out for my stock ECM with a SERT, no dyno tune yet but will be this spring.

I always had a few issues with the DTT system when it came to starting and idling, no matter what was done it still just wasn't right. There were always some little hiccups along the way, and finally I had enough and pulled it and sold it.

Now with my stock ECM and a SERT with a starter map from DOC, my bike is running better then ever. I'm fully confident that after Bean at Big Boyz Cycles does my dyno tune this spring that the bike will run even better.

You just can't beat a dyno tune done by a person who knows what they are doing. There are all kinds of tuners out there, but many of them don't know what they are doing at all.
