Default Dyno Tune vs Auto Tune

So I have a 11 SG with a few upgrades but nothing big. Just the 103 with Woods 222 cams, full exhaust, and air cleaner. Have a PCV with a base map from Fuel Moto which runs pretty good. I have never had an issue with a base tune they have sent me. I feel there is still some performance/ mileage I can squeeze out of it.

Am I better off in the long run getting a dyno tune done or purchasing the Auto Tune for my setup? I was thinking since my map seems pretty decent that the Auto Tune would be enough to make it spot on. I do not have a ton of mods so I am not chasing #'s. I just want to get my moneys worth out of my cams.

Actually it would be for the best to do both.
You could start out with the auto tuner and if happy then stick with that.
However, a dyno tune will cost you real close to what you can buy an auto tuner for.
As far as what you are better off doing, it can go either way.
If you have a crappy tuner then it is not good, where as if you buy an auto-tuner it can be pretty close to what a dyno tuner could do.
Good luck.

Autotune until you're happy .................... Dyno only makes the tuner happy!

A proper dyno tune will put "Auto tune" to shame. Problem is few folks can do a proper dyno tune.

Dyno all the way. especially if your like me and don't think you should be jacking with stuff your not really sure about. like oldhippie said a proper dyno will put autotune to shame. main reason I think is because the guy doing the dyno will do things to the bike you will never do or be able to do on the road while you fiddle with your auto tuner. its just best to read up on how a dyno is done and find out all you can before you make a choice.

After F'n around with my Power Vision doing auto-tunes and log runs etc for a season, I found a great Dyno guy local (Dyno Solutions). My bike ran good after my Auto-tunes, but it runs awesome after the Dyno tune. The power is strong and even, no flat spots. He made just a few corrections and it made a world of difference. One year, and 15k later, and still runs great. FYI I also have TW-222's.

An auto tune can only make adjustments against pre-set criteria, it has no means of measuring actual performance. That is what the dyno does and is there for - making adjustments to compensate for variations in performance. I'm sure some autotunes will work fine, but a dyno will win out most if not every time IMHO.

This is the biggest problem, finding a dyno tuner in (my) your area. One that will really do a good job, and knowing it before you hand over the cash.
