Does anybody have a stable version of the laptop software to utilize the Y cable? The downloadable software on Harley‘s website keeps flagging as having a virus. Thanks.
What I get is a warning that the software isn't common so I have to elect to keep it but it does download. The exe does run and I don't get any warnings of a virus.
I downloaded it (SeStreetTuner25.002.8006) with no warnings. Then scanned the file with MS Defender with no warnings. I did not try to install it because I have a older version of the Super Tuner installed and don't want to risk affecting it.
One note is that when an executable file (.exe) is downloaded, later versions Windows and MAC will block the file from running (executing to install). If you right click on the file and select "Properties", you will need to check the box to "Unblock" See the image below.
For those getting warning that is a virus, what virus scanning software are you using?
Right before I got my Power Vision last month my Screamin' Eagle tuner software demanded to download an update. Windows Defender immediately quarantined that update, which prevented the software from loading. Keep in mind this is the new software for the little bluetooth tuner for the new bikes. When I tried to download the file from Harley's website it was immediately quarantined by Windows Defender and it would not let me access it.
What I had to do was go into the Windows Defender settings and tell it to restore and allow the downloaded file. A real PITA if you are not used to telling Defender to keep its mitts off of something. After I did this the software installed and ran properly.
Now the fun part. When I opened the app on my phone it downloaded an update that broke the app to where it would no longer flash a tune. It did this on my iPhone and my Samsung Galaxy. Definitely a Harley problem. I could still modify a tune on the PC and load it into the bike, but the app could not be used for Smart Tune sessions, data collection, or even loading any of the tunes stored.
At that point I was so fed up I said to heck with the warranty and got a Power Vision. I bought tune support from Fuel Moto, did some data logs and emailed them to them, and got a great tune back a few days later.
If someone does not already have experience using the older Race Tuner software using just the PC if the phone app doesn't work would be time consuming at best with less than optimal results. I fought with that stupid tuner with no available support from Harley (either at corporate level or from my dealer) for over a year and a half and was so glad to get away from it. I tried four or five different phones and Smart tune locked up if it even started at all. The canned tune from Dyno Jet was leaps and bounds better than anything the Harley tuner could come up with. That being said if the OP has access to a good Dyno tuner that KNOWS how to use the Harley tuner great results can be obtained, but most shops refuse to learn how to tune with it.
I’ve never used Harley software but I’ve been tuning street and strip vehicles for over 20 years wi the varies softwares so not to concerned with that. I also have a dyno in my family so have that covered also. Once the warranty is up, I fully plan to go to something different.

If you have access to a Dyno the Screamin' Eagle setup should get you a good running bike. I talked to a dealer up North that helped me get my tune straight. They said they routinely build 150 HP bikes with the Harley tuner, so I know it can be done, it's just a matter of finding someone willing to learn the software.
I’m just trying to find somebody that has a good version of the software that can maybe email it to me or something. I’ve tried two different laptops now, and they both throw fits even when I disabled the antivirus.
