Sold my corvette yesterday got lost of extra cash. Took a ride to my local HD dealer. Got a free meatball sandwich and a cold Miller beer for free. I guess thet was to put me in the buying mood. I got to tell you just don't like the new touring bikes as much as I like my 2019 Ultra, I do like the new engines. So thinking when the time comes I think I will just rebuild my old bike, maybe a new crate engine, belt, front rebuild and bearings and what ever it needs.
Agree..I think the new touring bikes are ugly. Bags are ugly, lowers are ugly, fairing looks like a metric bike reject. Lights in the Road Glide fairing look like a big dumb smiley coming down the road. And another thing..I don't like the colors either. There, I said it
I was where you are 25 years ago. I didn't like the Evo at first, wound up with one anyway, rode the hell out of it. Did engine and suspension performance upgrades, custom paint, reupholstered the seat, and set it up how I liked it. It's a pleasure to ride anytime.
Twin-cams added more moving parts and heat...no thanks, (although my wife has one).
Still love my Shovel though. Neither one has cost me as much as a new one does now.
Between the two of them, H-D has seen it's last dollar from me.
