I'm having some trouble starting my bike after I turn off when it's already warm. It cranks and cranks.. I usually have to give it some gas for it to start. Any tips? This is my first carb'd bike

Reason: Specific
You don't state what bike or year you have. A carb bike usually does need a little twist of the throttlel to start. If it is very difficult to start it may be time for a tune up.
It's a 2003 deuce.. Didn't state it cuz I assume a carb'd bike is a carb'd bike.. I got it in July don't know when last tune up was. I have more trouble starting it hot rather than cold.
I don't know much about carb'd bikes, but I do know they react different in cold vs hot weather. With the changing of the seasons, it'd be helpful to get it checked out, and maybe also learn its quirks so you can tune it yourself.
From experience with other motors you don't need the (enrichener) choke **** pulled. That's only for cold starts.. Right? Yea they react differently in different temperatures. Humidity etc.. There hasn't been much of a change in climate here recently.

could be wrong here but when the manual refers to "cold" starts it is referring to the engine temp.("cold" not having been run in a while) not the ambient temp. the enrichener allows additional fuel into the carb via the low speed circuit while idling. don't get me started on climate change!LOL
Either or my bike is warm as well as the temp. So maybe a tuneup or spark plugs. Little by little I will figure it out.. I live in southwest az sunshine all year round
