This would be a sweet mod, but I have my concerns on anything hanging from the bottom of my bike. I for one have I have hit the primary going 70mph in a corner on a bike that was slammed with lowering bolts and he had the bump stops removed I am lucky to be alive..I'm all for having a slammed bike when I'm parked but the mod has to have a lock out feature that will keep it from dropping down when moving.
it can be done. I could not find any shocks on the market that had enough stroke to let the frame drop to the ground. i rebuilt the swing arm, modified the frame extensively, and installed a double bellow air bag in place of the battery tray. The bag is from a tag axle on a big truck, it takes about 45 lbs of air to bring it to original ride height. i have been riding this setup since 2008, made a coule of revisions but have not had one problem with the components. last but not least it rides like a cadillac, i have not been on another bike that rides as good as this one does. and it is really kewl when you drop the air stand straight up and step off the back of the bike
Spook: Do you hve anymore pictures of your bike? I'd like to see raised and dropped if possible. And of course in finished form!
I don't have any pics of it aired up. Lack of kickstand makes it hard for me to snap a pic. Lol.
As far as finished form I don't think it will ever be finished. It is the project that changes every winter. I will try to get some pics of it this evening aired up.
