I'm thinking of getting a set of the 55902-05 risers for my Slim S on eBay. Problem is, a lot of them are sold without the top clamp or hardware

Does anyone know if the Slim's OEM top clamp and screws fits the 55902-05 risers? I would imagine so, but I'm not sure

I believe bar sizes are the same (1" ) I just don't know enough about the Slim OEM top clamp's compatibility with the 55902-05 risers. If the size of bar is the only consideration, I'd say I was OK.

If anyone definitively knows if these parts fit, please chime in! :-)

Has anyone found any aftermarket risers that work with the slim? Also what length is the most you can use with the stock cables and wires?

The problem is that the Slim top clamp will not fit the pullback risers... The bolt width is the same (right to left) but the spacing front to back across the handlebar itself is different.

I really like my top clamp and want to keep that look. I bought a second top clamp and am getting ready to elongate the bolt holes to see if I can make it work. I should probably try to find a machine shop to do the work, but I am a cheap bastard and will try to do it by hand sometimes soon.

Also, the shape of the top of the rise clamping surface is a slightly different than the stock Slim ones. I mean just slightly too... This means there will be just a hair of clamping surface showing when I'm done. I'll decide if it's worth it once I see it. I may end up breaking down and having to buy the Deluxe style top clamp.

If you don't care about changing the top clamp, you can use about anything, even the older style with the offset bolt pattern.

Looks like I am not alone in quest for back comfort here. So I got my DeLuxe risers ready for install on my 2014 Slim. Heard that no cable extension is needed = happy.

My question is this: so during install you simply pull existing cables from behind headlamp/tripple trees and covers (all the cable lenght is there for me) or there is something else that has to be done (meaning pulling, repositioning, doing some other craziness)?

I really want to hear more about comfort improvement after this install as I reach my limits with seat combinations already and really need to dial this bike down for this season. So far I installed Mustang vintage seat (still not 100%satisfied) and forward controls (which I think will need 2" extension) to allow me to do all day ride. I am 5'10" and this bike stock set up is really uncomfortable for me while I admit I like to stretch my legs a bit.

while it is risers post I will appreciate some comments what you guys did to improve comfort of your Slim.

Not sure if the 'deluxe' risers are the same as the slim risers, but if
they are, I didn't have to do anything with the cables (no pulling for
extra length).

Here's about as good of an (older) pic of my slim risers as I've got.

good luck,

T.

Brake line is all good as well but I dont have ABS but i believe lines are same on both models. You can just pop the new risers and you are done. I only had to yank a bit of electrical cables from under the tank but it was easy and no big deal. The change in your posture was huge. The only thing was this risers were super close to speedo housing so I will probably upgrade to straight risers as I dont like that. Not sure as others dealt with that as I have distance between the 2 that I can only squeeze sheet of paper in between. For me this is too close
