Default Slim Riser Options

I want to add some pull-back risers to my 2014 Slim.

I like the look of the HD risers (Part # 55900023) but the cost is pretty high. I have looked at some aftermarket risers like the Drag Specialty but I just don't like the look as much.

I recently found on eBay and some on-line HD stores the pullback risers for a FLSTN (HD Part # 55902-05). As far as I can tell, these look like they would work with a Slim. The bolt spacing on both is 3-1/2". These look almost identical to the Slim risers but cost less than half ($63 @ Kutter HD).

Has anybody tried this? Does anybody know why it would not work.

Also, if you have the HD 55900023 risers on your Slim, I would love to see some pictures both from the front and profile .

Thanks!!!

Rad

eBay item: 281452020023

These are the ones I bought off eBay. Haven't put them on yet. You just can't use your top clamp with them; have to use the new one because the bolt hole spacing is different.

hahaha....I looked up those risers by the part number to confirm how expensive they were and in the "you might also like" section, this was there: http://www.harley-davidson.com/store...ememberMe=true

just a little preparation for the raping, I reckon

Just wanted to follow up on the outcome for anybody else asking the same question. YES, the risers from other Softails work perfect!! I swapped out my OEM Slim risers for pullback risers from a 2013 Softail Deluxe. The install was super easy and the finished product looks great and will do wonders for my back.

The best part is you can find used ones on this forum, like I did, or on eBay for a fraction of the ridiculous price HD is asking for the only risers they show that will fit the Slim. I would even bet the risers they show as "Pullback Riser Kit - 55900023" are the risers from a Deluxe (in the pdf of handlebar riser dimensions, the 55900023 is listed as "55900023Deluxe Pullback Rise". The look identical!!!

I bought the H-D Part # 55900023.
Here's a couple of pics.
With these, I went from leaning forward (not good for a bad back) to sitting more upright, and I didn't need to change out any cables - there was plenty of slack all around...
Oh and uh, I had them powdercoated black, as they only came in chrome...

Right - those risers listed for the Slim appear to be the exact same ones that come standard on the Deluxes.
OP, you can go to the dealer and sit on one (Deluxe) to see how they'll feel...

I've just bought the exact same parts from eBay

I'm in the UK so they'll take a week or so to get here

How do you find them? Is there a big difference in your riding position?

I've been farting about for ages with various seats (and spending too much money too!) and I'm hoping a combination of pullback risers and having my seat re-upholstered to add an inch of padding will sort me out

everything you buy for your HD doesn't have to be HD. it sure isn't going to get you anymore money at re-sale

Another cool option, which I am considering myself, is to use Flanders style risers. You can either get the type which bolt right into the triple tree or use a 1" pipe on the existing risers and using the old dog bone style. The only potential issue might be the distance between the tops of the risers and the speedo mount. I'll be experimenting with these types of risers this winter.
