Default Is the battery gone?

Took the battery out before removing the tins, forks etc. I painted the tins, reinstalled forks with lowering kits, new headlight etc. The battery does not keep charge somehow. The moment I remove the charging cables, and turn the ignition on all I hear is nonstop clicking from the fuelpak. I press the start and same cracking noise. Even the horn sounds extremely week.
How can a battery go bad just by sitting in my garage for a week!!! I charged it for two days still same.

get a voltage tester and put it on the battery, it should read between 12-13 volts. With the tester still on the battery, hit Start on the bike, if it drops below 8, you need a new battery.

How can it go bad? idk. my stock one went dead just after 2 years of use. i had it out from the bike for about a month, then it wouldn't hold a charge.

if you do need a new battery, check out the Deka Big Crank.

It may be the battery and may not be. Take the battery out, put it on a board and charge it for 24 hours. But, first check the electrolyte level. If it's low, top it off with distilled water. Then after charge check the voltage or go to the parts store and do a load test. If all looks good Put it back in the bike and see what happens.

Consider a AGM battery. They tend to last longer. Check the head light make sure you did not pinch a wire.

With the work you did, you're sure that you didn't cause a short or leak?
