Hello. Well, first, if your voltmeter reads 0 volts I would suggest that you check the battery terminals. You may have lost contact with your battery. If they are clean and tight, you may need to charge your battery before you can go further. You can't ask a dead man how he feels. When the battery is fully charged (could take about 24 hours) it should show a bit more than 12 volts. Never charge the battery at a high rate that causes the battery to heat up. Most chargers will automatically cut back. (Actually, it is the internal resistance of the battery that cuts back the charge rate). Batteries usually fail such that they loose one cell and the battery will only show 10 volts. Usually. When the battery reads 0 volts it often means that something is draining the battery. If the battery voltage reads 12 volts after charging it you should be able to crank the engine. With the engine running at a high idle the volt meter should show about 14 volts.
You didn't say what bike you have but since you said it has a voltmeter I assume it is an Ultra. Tell us more about it after you charge your battery and make sure nothing has been left on. I'm sure others will chime in. Also, please turn off your caps lock key as on the Internet it suggests that you are yelling. Thanks.
I agree with Square Dude. Check your connections. Bolt or nut probably came loose at one of the battery terminals or at the other end of the cables... Make sure the ground cable has a good ground, etc.
Once you have checked the battery connections, if it still is zero, remove the battery before charging. after it is charged, it should read in the neighbor of 12.7 - 13 volts. Once installed back in the bike, with it running, you shoould get a reading of around 13.5-14.7. IF the voltage drops below what the battery is reading with the machine off, when you start the bike, you have a cahrging situation and the bike will run for about 150-200 miles before stranding you (lesson learned the hard way)- good luck.
