Default Shotgun shock install

Anyone ever seen a detailed video on how to install shotgun shocks? I can't seem to find one. It always amazes me that many of these manufacturers don't take the time to make step by step video instructions that would make installation less intimidating. Looks like a lost opportunity to me.

You don't need a video. It is honestly pretty simple.
1)Lift bike
2)Remove stock shocks
3)Bolt in Compressor and run wiring up into battery box
4)Bolt in Shock
5)Mount switch by horn
6)Connect wiring to battery
7)Ride that **** low as you can with a huge grin.

The mod is not as intimidating as you may think. If you are mechanically inclined, I would put it at about a 6 on a 1 to 10 scale.

That sounds simple enough. One thing holding me back: "drill out 2 holes in the transmission case and thread to 14." I'm thinking there are 2 holes there already, that they probably just need some reaming out, and that threading to 14 is either easier than I think or not really necessary. The rest does seem as straight forward as you describe.

I am pretty positive that does not include your 2007. IIRC that is the older bikes. They don't need drilling though either, just need to tap an existing hole. This always comes up, and I can never recall the year that ended, but I want to think like 2000 maybe? Hopefully someone else can chime in.

Here you go, from the man himself, your 2007 does not require it.

Well, I've read over everything I can find. While I'm still sure I can figure out a way to lost or confused, I do think this is doable. It sounds like JD can walk a 12 year old through it on the phone, so surely he can get me there too. I'm ordering tomorrow. Thanks for the advice.

If you are unsure of something post up here. There are loads of people here who have done the install.

It's an easy swap as far as not being complicated, but those swing arm bolts can be a real PIA to get off.

Since those bolt are hard to get off, would this be a good time to switch out to a chrome swing arm, or is that getting into a whole other can of worms?
