Default Frame Protectors Soft tail

Bought the Harley frame protectors 94675-99, those of you that are using them did you cut them so to clear the cross member or cut a notch in the protector to fit around the cross member?

Had them when I had my Night Train, and yes, I trimmed a spot out for the crossmember.

I found the directions I cut them, first cut on both 5 1/4 inches works perfect on both sides, side stand on a block about 2 inches thick, rubber pads removed from Red jack, looks like it will slide under will out any problem will find out when I have some help on the first lift try.

Bluraven

Had to order them from Holistens normally a stock item they were out, took 4 days to get them.I though about trying to make something that would work, these fit the frame can't put them on wrong once there cut.Once I figure out the balance point I'll mark them and no guessing from there on out. Just a matter of deciding on how to tie the bike to the jack from there.

I used an idea I read here. Heater hose slit longwise. 1 inch inside diameter and Its 3/8 thick and thats thick enough that the jack doesnt touch the shocks. Advanced auto, $3.18.

Great minds must think alike.
The only difference is I used 3/4" hose and I got my hose from Auto Zone.

Works great and just gets the jack off the shocks.

The heater hose is a great cheap way to protect but, I have to wonder if they offer the same stability that the frame protectors, which aren't that expensive, offer.

After putting the hose on I found the stability no different than when the jack was directly on the frame.

That being said, I don't see anything wrong with the frame protectors and for $25 it ain't going to break the bank.
