I've got them on every exposed nut and bolt thatI didn't/couldn't replace with chrome hardware.
Two Thumbs up!
Take a close look at my pics and you'll see them.
Removal is tough because the fit very snug. Mine have been on for nine months so far and look great. Never lost one either. You do need to silicone the ones that cover the rocker bolts or you will loose them.
I have quite a few toppers on my ride and they have not gone any where. on some of the bigger nuts that have a loose fit i added silcone to keep them in place. This is not a problem its easy to mremove
I'm not sure where the other guys are coming from, but they remove very easily. Just a small flat blade screwdriver seperates them from the bolt head, and then just pop em' off. They go right back on without any problems.
I have never used silicone and I have never lost one.
There are some bigger nuts like on the exhaust clamps exhaust bracket and s few others on the bike that the caps go over the nut and not into an opening these often need the silicone to hold them in place There are not to may nuts on mine that do not have a cover you may have thought that there was nothing available for these places. The instructions even tell you this about the silicone. I have found that a lot of times members reply to a post without getting the whole picture. I had said that on some of the bigger nuts the caps have a loose fit silicone will keep them in place and its easy to remove I stand by this statement

I used the chrome allen head plugs on most of the bolts on my bike. You can find them at a good hardware store that has a nice selection of screws, nuts, etc. They are much less expensive than the hot toppers, easy to remove. Mine have stayed on fine and even if I do lose one, they are cheap to replace one at a time if necessary. When I installed them I spread the little tangs that slide into the allen head openings for a snugger fit.
