It is not that there are 11k available. If you read the link it says that is how many have been ordered so far, and if they do not get over 7500 that type of plate will not be made. So it looks like the black ones will be the only choice unless a bunch more people order the others soon.

Can any officers of the law chime in on what kind of ticket one would get for modifying there own plate to a more classic color? I like the black and yellow but wasn't thinking about the annual fee and see the downside.

Why would we do that? Pretending to be cool is much better than being a REAL biker like yourself.

Well, the DMV (also known as Zombieland) certainly cashed my check to them yesterday. So will see how long until I go and pick them up.
