The DNA bags are thinner ABS than some of the other aftermarket bags. The sides flex a lot and feel thin once mounted to the bike, the weight of the lids and hardware will bow the sides of the bags. The hardware is hit and miss as well. Buy them with this in mind and you won't be disappointed, if you have issues with stuff like this, look elsewhere.
DNA bags are same thickness and weight of HD OEM hard bags..at least prior to '14. I have both DNA and OEM and they are identical thickness. Lids same thing mine do not bow the sides of the bags.
I have spent the last year looking, comparing and putting my hands on various vendors who make ABS and a few fiberglass ones. And no one ABS vendor has bags that are that much different if at all from one another.
Play semantics all ya want. Your putting out false info. Most likely you've never even seen or put your hands on a set of DNA bags. I would bet you are connected with a shop or you know someone who makes bags.
If by 'connected' you mean 'run' a shop, then you would be correct. I have dealt with almost all the aftermarket ABS bags, and just like the rest of DNA's cheap Chinese knockoff stuff their bags are inferior to other companies. Once again, this is from my experience in dealing with them. One of my Techs has them on his bike as they were free and is is as unimpressed with the quality as I am. This thread is asking for comments specifically about DNA's bags, while my opinion may differ from yours it doesn't make it any less credible or 'false' to use your words. Now, whether the OP wants to listen to my opinion or not is his/her choice, that is the beauty of a public forum like this!
