Default Chrome switches or caps?

In the midst of a ape hanger install this fall/winter season and installing chrome controls at same time. I need to lengthen the wires to switches and installing chrome caps. Would it be better to just buy new chrome switches rather than installing the caps? Anyone have any experience with chrome switch replacements listed on ebay? I see lots of posts on PIA caps, but little info on the quality of replacement chrome switches.

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

It would seem that the chrome switch caps would be more cost effective than chrome switches. The quality of the chrome caps seems better than the stock caps.

I know this can be one of those debate threads, but i left my Switch Caps Black when I chromed the Housings only to have some kind of contrast otherwise it just looks like a big blob of chrome...

If you want chrome switches to go along with the chrome switch housings take a look in the Fat Book from Drag Specialties, page 876. They have a set of switches (black or chrome) already mated to 48" leads so you won't need to extend the wires at all. The wiring is color coded the same as the factory wiring and the kit comes with the connectors to crimp on the ends of the wires. I used these on my 16" Gangster apes and it cut hours of cutting/splicing/soldering and heat shrinking out of the mix....

This is what I did with my Heritage as well. I saw it on a CVO, and thought it looked great.
