Shotgun shock problem
Anything is possible.
Well,
After checking & rechecking, and generally a$$ing about I found the leak,
rotten bloody thing

Its coming out of one of the release valves that I couldn't initially feel but easy to see when the bike is up on the stand
Okay, where do I go from here??

I don't really want to pull it apart, I thought they were a sealed unit, and potentially make it worse
You can see Where it's leaking from a little clearer here

I'm away at work at the moment but I'm pretty sure that release valve is just a quick spanner job too. Hell, it might only need a tighten up if that's the case? Either way I have no doubt he will send you another, or he might even tell you what you're looking for if you go to your local valve shop to pick up another if you're in a hurry.
With our time difference you'll probably hear from him tomorrow morning when it's Monday over there
The leak was so slight that the bike would have to be parked for a few days just to drop an inch.
A quick flip of the switch and it would return to normal height.
The problem was so slight that I even hesitated to even bother JD with it.
Later in the early summer I wasn't able to ride much due to a pinched nerve in my neck and in fact, I missed most of the summer riding season.
After not riding for a couple of months, that was when I noticed that the shock had leaked almost all the way down.
OK, so I figured I'd contact JD's shop and inquire...
They mentioned it was possibly a bad check valve, and he sent out a new one immediately, without my even asking.
Here's a shot of the old and new valves.
The old one first (you can see the orientation arrow stamped on it):

..and the new one:

That was it apparently, as since replacing it, the bike height hasn't budged a micron in the last two months...
Except you have to manually adjust your ride or settle for a one size fits all settings.
