Default Advice Needed for Handlebars

Does anyone have some advice on where to buyand what type of bars I need for this problem?

I'm 5'-7" and the stock bars on my Heritage Softail force me to reach and this is causing stress in my upper back. I like the buckhorn style bars, but I wish they were just a couple inches closer to me so I could sit back in a more relaxed position. I've tried moving the bars down a little, but this doesn't help much. I'm guessing that if I put longer bars on, I'll have to change the brake lines, throttle andclutch cables too?

I appreciate your help!

Many of us with Heritage Classics have gone with the WildOne 518's, which have much more pullback than the stock bars. You'll find you won't have to reach so far forward. Look here, and scroll about halfway down the page.

You can also call them and describe what you're trying to achieve. They're very helpful on the phone.

I have wild One 508's on my Heritage. If I remember right, they have a little more pullback than the 518. I'm 5'8" and the 508's work great for me

You're correct. The 508's have 1.75" more pullback and are about 3" narrower than the 518's. They work very well for a lot of folks.

How about the 513's? The Heritage has about 2.5 more inches of rise than a fatboy or road king. If you go with 508's or 518's, you'll be lowering your bars.

Go to www.h-d.com and look at the pics and you'll see that a stock Heritage Classic has "mini apes" compared to the Fatboy or Road King.
